The Heartland Highland Dance School
We are pleased to announce that Heartland Highland is now offering lessons to all levels of dancers. We also specialize in private lessons/coaching to all levels. Heartland Highland is committed to offering a welcoming and inclusive lesson environment to all who want to learn Scottish dance.

Meet Your Instructors
Sarah McKee has been a British Association of Teachers of Dance (BATD) certified instructor since 2003. She is a full member in both Highland and Scottish National dance. Her accomplishments as a dancer include 10 qualifications to United States Inter-Regional (USIR) Championships, 9 of those as Southwest Regional champion/winner. She has also competed and placed in competitions throughout Scotland and was selected for the prestigious Sadie Simpson Scholarship competition twice. In addition to teaching Highland dancing, she has a Master's of Education in K-12 art and is an active teacher with the Blue Valley School District.


Caroline Campbell has been a certified teaching member of the British Association of Teachers of Dance (BATD) since 2018. She has been dancing for nearly three decades, competing and placing on the national and international stage. Caroline was twice selected for the Sadie Simpson Scholarship competition. She is a founding member of Heartland Highland and, before returning her hometown of Kansas City, she was a member of Shot of Scotch New York.
Previously, Caroline taught middle school reading and creative writing. She now works as a communications manager at Children’s Mercy Kansas City.
